What does a 6-zone commercial amplifier do?

It runs speakers in up to six separate areas from one unit, and each area gets its own volume knob. A restaurant, for example, can keep the dining room soft, the bar louder, and the patio louder still, all from a single amp in the back office. Every RCS model also has a mic input for announcements, so one box handles both background music and paging.

Why use a 70V system instead of regular speakers?

70V lets you wire dozens of speakers in parallel on a single run without calculating impedance. Each 70V speaker has a built-in transformer with a "tap" that draws a set number of watts. You just add up the taps and stay under the amp's rating. That's why 70V is the standard for restaurants, retail stores, offices, schools, and churches.

How many speakers can I run on an RCS amp?

Add up the tap wattage of all your speakers and keep the total at 80 to 85% of the amp's rating.

For example, the RCS350-6 can handle about 280 to 300W of taps, which is about 28 speakers tapped at 10W, or 56 at 5W.

Leaving that headroom keeps the amp running cool and the sound clean at full volume.

Which RCS model is right for my space?

Add up your speaker taps, divide by 0.8, and pick the first model at or above that number:

RCS90-6 (90W): a small café, office suite, or waiting room

RCS180-6 (180W): a small restaurant or retail store

RCS350-6 (350W): a full restaurant, winery, or multi-room office

RCS650-6 (650W): a large restaurant, school, or church auditorium

RCS1000-6 (1000W): a warehouse, gym, or large venue with many speakers

Example: 24 ceiling speakers at 10W = 240W, divided by 0.8 = 300W, so the RCS350-6 is the right pick.

How much power can each zone use?

The RCS180-6 and RCS350-6 allow up to 100W per zone. The RCS650-6 allows up to 200W per zone, and the RCS1000-6 up to 300W per zone. You can split the power however you like as long as the total stays under the amp's rating. The RCS650-6 also has a direct output that sends the full 650W to a single zone.

Can I use regular 4 or 8 ohm speakers?

Yes. Every RCS model has 4 and 8 ohm outputs along with 70V and 100V, so you can use standard passive speakers in a smaller space. Just keep the total load at or above 4 ohms. For more than a handful of speakers, or long wire runs across a building, 70V is the easier and more reliable way to go.

Can I make announcements over the music?

Yes. Each model has three mic inputs, each with its own volume knob, and a chime button that plays a tone before you speak. On the RCS180-6, RCS350-6, and RCS650-6, Mic 1 works as a priority mic that automatically lowers the music when you talk, and a mute level knob sets how far it drops.

What music sources can I connect?

Every RCS amp has Bluetooth streaming, USB and SD playback, FM radio, and RCA line inputs for a TV, computer, or media player. Most models also have an optical input for a TV or computer. Bass and treble controls let you adjust the tone for the room.

Can I install an RCS amp myself?

Yes. The RCS series was designed for DIY 70V installs. Speakers wire in parallel to detachable euro-block (Phoenix) terminals using basic speaker wire and a flathead screwdriver. The RCS180-6, RCS350-6, RCS650-6, and RCS1000-6 come with rack ears for 19" rack mounting. All models run on standard 120V power and are for indoor use only.
