    Great potential. BT & Optical need work

    "I installed this unit in my outdoor kitchen / pavilion to power eight 6. 5” OSD speakers (150W RMS each) and dual 12” 800-watt powered subwoofer. While the overall sound quality is actually quite decent, the unit completely fails on its two features most important to me. First, the optical input only produces a pulsating noise when connected to my TV, likely due to an issue handling Dolby signals, would have to switch to PCM vs Dolby signal from TV. Second, the Bluetooth range is absolutely horrid. My previous receiver let me walk all the way to the pool with my tablet; this one loses connection if I'm more than 3 feet away. I tested this with Apple, Android, and Windows devices, and they all have the same issue. I will likely be returning this. It’s a real shame they tanked an otherwise great product by saving 50 cents on a cheap Bluetooth module."

    "Just built a new home with 4 separate zones. The Home Matrix is just made for situations like this! Sound quality is very good and has way more volume than I'll need. Only 4 stars due to the VERY short range the built in Bluetooth has. I'm using a WiiM Airplay received wired to the AUX input and that covers my whole home. First Rockville Audio purchase but I'm very impressed."

    "I purchased this to replace an existing amp and provide more flexibility to a previously installed four zone system. The setup was quite easy and I’m very happy with the new unit. In my prior setup I had to use a separate Bluetooth adapter. The Home Matrix 4 has a built in Bluetooth, which is great, but the range could be better. Happy to have the built in FM also. Overall I’m very pleased with the quality and performance."

    "I like it. It works fine. The zones are separated. Down fall - the blue tooth on goes 25 foot. I had to get an extender and tie up my aux input. My cheap Sony 2 channel receiver blue tooth went 60 foot."
